International Ratings
BREEAM was developed in United Kingdom and published by Building Research Establishment (BRE) in 1990. It focuses on overall sustainability across different aspects such as energy, landuse , water, transport, materials and health and well being. It takes into consideration the carbon emissions, low impact design, climate change and most importantly the ecological aspects.
Unlike the environmmental and building assessment systems, WELL is an international rating managed by IWBI- International WELL Building Institute and certified system by GBCI. It focuses solely on health and well being of the people occupying the building and offers opportunity to evaluate any built enviornment for human experience. It is derived from the concepts of air, water, land, nourishment, materials, mental health and well being, etc and incorporates performance verification for each and every aspect. WELL can be applied to new and existing commercial, interiors as well as institutional projects. Integration of WELL would not only help to create a good built environment but also bring up a livable space to work within.
